Our History
2010
Around this time, it appears The Hawkeye Gymnastics Club became an official member of The National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs and attended their first NAIGC Nationals in Texas!
2015 - 2017
During this period The Iowa Men's Gymnastics Club grew in size and status by attending more competitions around the midwest. They even placed 3rd in the nation in the NAIGC collegiate division!
The origin of The Gymnastics Club at Iowa is a marvel of the ancient world. Currently, it is estimated the club originated in 2008 as an unofficially recognized organization named The Hawkeye Gymnastics Club.
2009
2015
After undergoing a sort of dark age, The Hawkeye Gymnastics Club reappeared as The Iowa Men's Gymnastics Club under the direction of Eyas Gymnastics Inc.
2018 - Present
The Gymnastics Club at Iowa has finally achieved official recognition from The University of Iowa! As such the club is now officially operating as an independent non-profit organization. We are happy to announce our ability to make the club more affordable and inclusive as a result! We are also excited to announce the reintroduction of women's gymnastics to the club!
Our Mission
The Gymnastics Club at Iowa exists to provide students with a safe and affordable opportunity to pursue gymnastics throughout college. Unfortunately, existing NCAA programs offer only a limited number of opportunities to select gymnasts around the world. The Gymnastics Club at Iowa allows non-NCAA gymnasts the ability to follow their passion and continue to compete in the sport of gymnastics. Most importantly, The Gymnastics Club at Iowa aims to build a supportive community that encourages teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, hard work, and fun.
